ART News | From the Hamptons and Miami to Palm Beach and Aspen, the Era of the Long-Term Pop-Up Gallery Isn’t Ending Anytime Soon
April 8, 2021
On November 27, Lévy Gorvy and Salon 94 Design will open the doors to a collaborative seasonal location in Miami's Design District conceived to present exceptional contemporary art in dialogue with outstanding design objects. With an interior design intervention by Gabriel Chipperfield, this new venue will offer connoisseurs and collectors the opportunity to view works in person in the context of Miami’s distinctively urbane seaside atmosphere.
Lévy Gorvy’s presentation is a curated selection of art from the gallery's program, with paintings and sculpture by Alexander Calder, Enrico Castellani, Francesco Clemente, George Condo, Richard Diebenkorn, Martial Raysse, Jesús Rafael Soto, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Andy Warhol. In sync with these masters—the design pieces will be in both a playful and art historical riff—displayed without hierarchy. Salon 94 Design's presentation will include objects by gallery designers Martino Gamper, Donald Judd, Max Lamb, Kwangho Lee, Philippe Malouin, Carlo Mollino, Gaetano Pesce, and Tom Sachs.
In collaboration with LIZWORKS, we are proud to present newly released jewelry by Rashid Johnson based on his celebrated and important Anxious Men series.
Works from the Miami venue are viewable online as part of Lévy Gorvy’s presentation for Art Basel’s OVR: Miami Beach, allowing visitors to the site to explore the art in depth. The gallery’s online viewing room for Art Basel will open to VIPs on December 2, with public dates from December 4–6.
