Behind the Scenes with Karin Schneider

For the fourteenth and final event of the Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts‘s year-long season about and around the work of David Hammons, Karin Schneider performed Sabotage (2005 – 2017). Sabotage involves Chauvet Hurricane 1300 fog machines, which make the space very hard to see. Meanwhile, live music by Ashley Bellouin played (Bellouin makes her own instruments). Then everything faded to blank.

Here we share a sneak peek of the fog machines undergoing testing the day before Schneider’s performance.

The performance was on July 20, 2017,  6:30pm at the Wattis Institute (360 Kansas Street, San Francisco, CA 94103).
