Inside Look: Pat Steir on her latest body of work
Artist Pat Steir brings you inside her exhibition, Pat Steir: Kairos, on view at our New York location through October 21, 2017.
Filling the public floors of the gallery with a suite of five eleven-foot tall oil on canvas paintings and eight smaller-scale works, this is the first New York exhibition of Pat Steir since she joined Lévy Gorvy in early 2016. Pat Steir: Kairos showcases paintings that manifest a methodological and philosophical continuity with—and slight formal departure from—her celebrated Waterfall series. The paintings are lush and sweeping in scale, with titles such as Endless Sky, Aporia, Melancholy, Poros, and Rose Hip, describing the states and senses they evoke.
