I don’t like the word landscape that one employs in speaking of my painting. It evokes the idea of falling into the trap of resemblance, which Chinese academicism has taught for hundreds of years… I prefer the word nature. It evokes a larger universe: of multiple interwoven spaces and there takes on a cosmic sense where air and the breath of life circulate.
