Artsy | TEFAF Sales Outpace Frieze New York on Opening Day
May 4, 2018
This year marks Lévy Gorvy's inaugural participation in TEFAF New York Spring, and we are delighted to share with you a selection of works from our upcoming presentation at Booth 24.
Martial Raysse's 1963 assemblage La France Verte is a highlight of our booth. The work heralds the images of iconic female beauty that would dominate Raysse's paintings in the following decades. The artist’s longstanding dedication to portraiture was explored in our recent exhibition Martial Raysse: VISAGES.
Anchored in the gallery's program, our booth also features Lygia Clark's Bicho (maquette) (1963), Yves Klein's Untitled Pink Sponge Sculpture (SE 204) (1959), Yayoi Kusama's Untitled (1953), and Henri Matisse's Arbre de neige (1947) alongside Pop masterpieces by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Gerald Laing.
With the May 2nd opening of Dan Colen: Mailorder Mother Purgatory at our gallery at 909 Madison Avenue and our participation in TEFAF at Park Avenue Armory, this is sure to be an exciting week in New York!
