Film | Not Just a Canvas: Eleanore Mikus on Her White Tablet Paintings
Eleanore Mikus’s “Tablet 164” (1967-68), shown at the Blanton Museum of Art in 2017, is part of a series of monochromatic paintings she called “Tablets;” vigorously demanding works that were created through experimenting with wood, canvas and fiberglass. Filmed at her home in May 2017, Eleanore Mikus discussed her work and process with Kara Carmack (Andrew W. Mellon Fellow for Modern and Contemporary Art, Blanton Museum of Art), in what was to be the last significant interview of the artist’s 90-year-life. Read more about the interview here.
