Gutai had a great impact on me. The group was completely different … and is still far beyond comparison with today’s koboten groups. Every space at space at Gutai exhibitions would be filled with original works that could never be created by any other artists than Kazuo Shiraga, Sadamasa Motonaga, for example. I thought, “This is Gutai.”
